In A level chemistry tuition centre, studying chemistry is similar to any other subject; the difference is that you have to exert extra effort to understand the science behind chemistry. All you need to do is focus on the topic at hand and work hard like it’s your final examination week at school!

Here are a few tips for studying chemistry by yourself.

  1. Study before and after classes

Students are highly recommended to study before and after classes. This way, you already understand the gist of the lesson that your instructor is teaching. This technique is also known as the “Flipped Classroom”, and it’s already a widely-used trend in educational communities.

With chemistry, the terms and concepts can be intimidating. There are so many technical words that you have to take note of so you can understand the lesson. As such, you can practise the “Flipped Classroom” technique to improve your comprehension of chemistry!

  1. Practice often

They say that practice makes perfect, and with learning chemistry, it’s true. It takes a lot of time to understand even the basics, what more in regards to the advanced areas of chemistry?

The trick is to devote a significant amount of your time to studying chemistry daily. You don’t have to sink in several hours to study chemistry; half an hour is enough as long as you’re focusing on the subject.

Perfect your understanding of chemistry and focus on a lesson until you get everything right! Don’t press forward towards the next lesson until you’ve managed to correct every mistake.

  1. Use the Internet

The Internet is your best friend. In this case, seek help from your friend by searching the web for tips and tricks regarding chemistry. There are countless videos that are perfect for beginners who are trying to learn chemistry. Watch a video online from a reliable instructor, and you’ll easily get the gist of chemistry.

You could also scour the Internet for online textbooks. Use these books as a source of information. However, make sure these books are 100% reliable, so check their sources first to see if they’re dependable.

  1. Ask for help!

Let’s say you’re done studying the night before classes; what should you do to make sure you’re ready for the next exam? Ask for help! Go to your friends and share what you’ve learned. Afterwards, ask them if what you’ve just said is correct.

Discuss your newly-found chemistry knowledge with others and enjoy the experience! It’s a fun way to gather around other chemistry students to see how much you’ve studied all by yourself. You might learn a few things from your peers as well, so don’t be afraid to ask for help.

In the end, the best way to study chemistry is in a tuition center, where you can find a reliable chemistry teacher in Singapore who can help you improve your skills.
